My toddler and I love Milk Factory Kids' Clothing

by Adelle
(Austin, TX, USA)

When it was time to take my toddler out into the hot Texas sun, to enjoy the park and pool and walks around the neighborhood, I worried about how to protect his skin.

After a little research, online and by word of mouth, I chose two things.

First, a fragrance-free organic sunscreen from California Baby. This comes in tube or stick form, and we have tried both and liked them.

We keep a tube of sunblock in a little catch-all basket near the door, so we can remember to put it on before going out. The stick stays in my purse, for easy touch ups while we're out.

My little one also likes to apply the stick version himself, and I can let him since it is easy to handle and no-spill.

The second, and very important, sun protection item I chose is sun protection clothing. The little pants, shirts and shorts have high-level sun protection built into the weave, yet still allow air flow and evaporative wicking to keep the active child cooler in warm weather.

My favorite brand of sun protective clothing for kids is Milk Factory, started by a mom who was looking for cute and comfortable sun protective clothing for her own little ones.

The elastic waist pants and shorts are very easy for a toddler or young child to put on and take off, so they are great for potty training.

Another big plus with this type of fabric is that it dries quickly. If you're travelling, these items are so easy to hand-wash in a sink and hand to dry; they'll be ready to go in a few hours.

The quick-drying element is also a big help with the inevitable spills and splashes that accompany the toddler years.

My little boy loves the comfortable fit and coolness of the wicking fabric, and I love that he's comfortable, protected from the sun, and looking super-cute in the stylish colors offered.

A good, non-irritating sun block and a few uv protective clothing items make a great team to keep your little one comfortable now and safer for a lifetime.
