Paint and Tell

Taking care of children since I was 12 has helped me develop ideas about how to keep them entertained while indoors.

Kids of all ages love arts and crafts and although sometimes it can be messy it is a very good way to be creative and have kids learn as they play.

The very first time I decided to try what I would call paint and tell was about a year ago.

I was taking care of two girls, one eight years old the other four. I had gone to the rag shop and picked up three bird house projects with the paint included.

I began by explaining how painting the bird house was going to help tell a story. Each side of the bird house told a story and since it only has four sides going around it turns out to be a short story.

It turns out to be really great because the kids were able to be a little creative with their stories and still get to make a mess with paint which they enjoy so much.
