Choosing Infant Swimwear

by M. Avila

Infant swimwear must be chosen with simplicity in mind. The spandex in swimsuits makes getting a one-piece swimsuit on and off very difficult on a squirmy baby.

It's best to get a two-piece swimsuit for a baby girl or a one-piece that has snaps at the bottom for easy on and off, not to mention diaper changes at the most unexpected times.

Baby boys can wear a pair of swim trunks with a
swim shirt. Affordability is also key, because that child will not use that swimsuit for more than one summer.

It does not make sense to pay the price of an adult swimsuit when the child will only be using it for one swimming season.

One of the most important things to remember is that the baby is well protected from the sun, whether that be a swim shirt with UV protection, generous application of baby sunscreen, or a combination of both.

Keeping these things in mind will help you choose the best infant swimwear for your little one!
