Oldie But Goodie!!!

by Anthony

One of my fondest memories growing up was playing outside with all the neighborhood kids.

We met up every summer day, same time, and same place.

But, something about getting to play outside after dinner was so exciting and only some of us were allowed.

About 7pm every night, we met at the rock, flashlights in hand! Manhunt was our favorite game.

One of us got to run off and pick the best hiding spot we could find while the others waited 2 minutes, which seemed more like 20 minutes.

Then we were off scouring the neighborhood shrieking with excitement, until we found the hiding spot, or were called in by our parents.

Most of the time we gave up before we ever found the person hiding.

But that didn’t matter since the fun part was just being able to run around at dusk. It was such a thrill, and I will never forget it!!
