Sun Allergy Last Summer

I had a very bad sun allergy last summer. I was so allergic to sunlight that even limited exposure could cause third-degree burns.

I wear glasses, a full-cover hat and even my hands are covered with socks.

People think I was crazy that I go out at 10:30 at night, but we just had to turn our lifestyle around.

The attire has become a daily routine because of my allergy.

According to my doctor I have a xeroderma pigmentosum, or XP -- a rare disease in which skin can't repair ultraviolet damage.

Even exposure to fluorescent lighting can cause third-degree burns.

Since I was diagnosed 3 months ago, our family has been living in a cave-like home.

We've installed an indoor swing, and windows in my bed room and my library have been covered by solar film.

From that day I never missed my prevention medication from sunlight.

Even though the medications are too expensive we can still find a way to buy those important medications for treating as well as prevention.
