Sun Exposure: Protecting Yourself at the Beach

by Sam

One of the most important places to prepare for exposure to the sun is at the beach.

Although bathing attire by design covers less of your body than normal clothing, you should not fear going to the beach if protection from the sun is important to you.

One option would be to dress for the beach as you would for anywhere else, but this certainly would be inconvenient for beach activities.

Obviously you should cover yourself with a high-SPF rated sunscreen, but equally important to what goes on you is what goes over you.

Selection of an appropriate beach umbrella can protect you as well.

Did you know that many beach umbrellas come with their own SPF rating?

A quick check of a popular internet store lists several beach umbrellas with SPF ratings of 50-100 for less than $40.

So, instead of covering yourself with hats, long-sleeves, and pants at the beach, why not select an appropriate beach umbrella and spend a long, relaxing day at the beach without worrying about over-exposure to the sun?
