Precious Eyes Need Protection

Baby sunglasses
I've always had bad eyesight. It runs in my family. So when my first son was born, I wanted to do whatever I could to ensure that his eyesight would be protected from the very beginning.
I contacted my eye doctor while my wife was pregnant to ask advice about what she should eat or vitamins she should take that might help during her pregnancy.
The doctor said that as long as she was eating well, exercising and taking her prenatal vitamins, there wasn't anything else he could recommend. But he did strongly urge that we protect our baby's eyes from the very beginning with
baby sunglasses.
I said, "You're kidding? Where do I find baby sunglasses?"
The doctor said, "don't worry, it will be my gift to you."
So a few months later, after Marshall was born, I received a package from the doctor. Inside was the smallest pair of sunglasses I had ever seen.
It came with a note that said, "Don't forget my advice. Use these whenever you're outside with the baby ... even if it's a cloudy day."
So whenever we were outside, Marshall wore these adorable little sunglasses that our doctor had custom made for our sun. The lenses protect his eyes from the
UV rays and other harmful influences on the eye.
I'm grateful for the gift that we received and the friendship of our eye doctor. I know that we are doing everything we can to keep our son's eyes as healthy as possible, even with the inherited eyesight issues.
We're also getting some great pictures, since Marshall looks adorable in his little shades.
