Midsummer Meltdown

For anyone who has lived in the middle of the desert I am sure you know what I am going through.

Every year comes the dreaded heat wave that blankets the land of Texas for months at a time.

It seems as though here in El Paso we never get a break from it, we only really have two months of cold weather.

For me this is horrible because I am prone to heat stroke as my job takes me out in traffic mid day. Which we all know is the absolute worst time to ever go out in the desert.

Because the heat is so very bad here one summer I had to take three bottles of water with me every where I went so that I did not over heat.

Of course regardless of this fact I do assisted living work and I needed to be out in the sun so I had the dreaded sun stroke.

I was helping a client get her yard in order for her party later that night and even with the hat and the water I still went into heat exhaustion.

I had to go inside quickly to run cold water over my face and try to calm down. I felt horrible because the young lady I was caring for ended up caring for me that day.
