Use UV Clothing to Protect Yourself from the Sun

I’ve always loved spending time in the sun. Since I’m of Irish descent I’ve always had to use the best sunscreen and moderate my time in the sun.

I always limited sun exposure and when I would visit the beach I was sure to rent a beach umbrella to help protect my skin.

But after my brother was diagnosed with skin cancer a few years ago, I decided that it was necessary to take my level of sun protection even further.

Whenever possible I wear sun protection clothing. I buy long-sleeved linen shirts and linen pants, and UV clothing and wear them in the summer whenever it’s feasible.

I also wear a wide brimmed sun protection hat to protect my head and face from the sun. And I’m always sure to wear sunglasses. I do this in addition to always wearing sunscreen.

I don’t always walk around in the summer fully covered by protective clothing. But I do cover my skin whenever I possibly can.

On a day when that isn’t possible, I make sure that I reapply my sunscreen whenever I need to and stay in the shade whenever possible.

Prevention of skin cancer is a must, so do what you can to protect yourself. Linen clothing that covers your skin, or uv protection clothing on a hot summer day is almost as cool as wearing clothing that reveals more skin and it offers an extra layer of sun protection.

Enjoy the sun; it’s a beautiful thing. Just be smart about it. Protect yourself from the damage that it can cause to your skin.

You’ll be happy that you did.
